Is this my new obsession?

When I first received the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Fort Worth Courthouse, I have to admit, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. As much as I love photography, I don’t typically shoot events—especially weddings. But these clients were incredibly special to me. I’ve had the privilege of working with them for years, so when they asked me to capture their big day, I couldn’t say no.

After giving it some thought, I decided to take the leap. And I’m so glad I did.

The Fort Worth Courthouse turned out to be an absolutely stunning venue for a wedding. From the grand architecture to the beautiful surroundings, it provided such a unique backdrop for the ceremony and portraits. Getting to capture the couple in such an iconic, historic space felt so special. Plus, the courthouse grounds offered plenty of variety in terms of backdrops—all within a short walking distance! The opportunity to photograph them in these gorgeous settings made it all feel like a perfect fit.

One of my favorite things about the experience was how intimate and personal the whole day felt. It wasn’t about grand, traditional wedding elements—it was about capturing their connection and the emotions of the day. I had so much fun taking portraits of the couple after the ceremony. There’s something so special about the freedom of smaller, more intimate weddings, especially when you get to focus on the people and the moments that truly matter.

After this experience, I can honestly say that I would love to photograph more courthouse weddings or small elopements in the future. There’s something about the simplicity and authenticity of these types of celebrations that really speaks to me. I know that for some couples, a big, traditional wedding isn’t their style, and the courthouse offers an incredible alternative that is just as meaningful and beautiful.

If you’re thinking about having a courthouse wedding or an intimate elopement, I’d love to help you capture your special day. Let’s talk about how we can create timeless, authentic photos that reflect your unique love story.
